The Story Behind The Brand

The Story Behind The Brand

I don't really know where to begin... And I can't say that this blogpost will have all the details for this brand and why I started this brand. I always wanted to do something that aligned with all of my passions... my passion to give, my passion to raise awareness, and my passion to be fashionable. So why not just go for it, right? But here is a little story to just start. I promise to share more.

4 years ago, today, I graduated from intensive outpatient for my mental health. I remember saying that day that this was my greatest accomplishment. However, I have carried “survivor’s guilt” with me since that day. I had access to resources that so many people do not have…. And had I not had these resources, I would not be here today.
.
There is always a thin line between us and those who are struggling… very thin. I became an occupational therapist because I want to increase access to mental health resources and services… because everyone deserves to live their life to their fullest potential.
.
With that being said, I would like to share that I will be launching a brand to raise funds and awareness for domestic violence and substance abuse. I am still ironing out the details for the organizations that I will be supporting, and I am still working on my products. But I couldn’t let this meaningful day pass without making this announcement.
.
I will be focusing on domestic violence and substance abuse as these are two areas that specifically have been impacting the South Asian community for a very long time…and its two areas that we always remain silent about… It’s time for all the Shernis and Shers to SPEAK!
.
My logos represent the people who are my reason for being. My grandparents who never had access to a proper education, but still gave my parents everything they could. My parents who never lived their dreams so me and my siblings could. And my siblings… who literally fought my battles when I was fighting my own mind.
.
I don’t know where this project will go, but I am grateful for the people that it has already brought into my life. We are going to do great things regardless…
.
Let’s Speak.

With Love,

Dr. Kaler
